1. Installation using VMware12#
Issue: When installing win10 using VMware12, an error page appears with the message Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We'll restart for you
, and the error code KMODE EXCEPTION NOT HANDLED
, followed by continuous restarts with errors.
According to online sources, VMware12 does not support the graphics card for this version of win10. It is recommended to use VMware14/15 for installation.
2. This host does not support 64-bit...#
Issue: An error occurs during the creation of a virtual machine with the message This host does not support 64-bit guest operating systems. This system cannot run.

Ignore the error and click Next to create the virtual machine. However, when trying to start the virtual machine, the following errors occur:
Cause: Enabling Hyper-V in Windows10 conflicts with VMware Workstation, preventing the running and creation of virtual machines. However, Hyper-V is not enabled in the "Programs and Features" settings on the local computer:
Solution:
- Right-click on the Windows PowerShell (Administrator) option on the bottom left corner of the desktop.
- Enter the command
bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off
and press Enter.
- Restart the computer.
PS: To re-enable Hyper-V, simply execute the command bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype auto
and restart the computer.
3. Boot Manager appears#
Issue: After clicking "Start this virtual machine," the "Boot Manager" appears in the running interface:
Solution:
To create a new virtual machine, when selecting the Windows version in the new virtual machine wizard, choose "Windows 10" instead of "Windows 10 x64":
